The Cathedral Range Southern Circuit is a thrilling adventure through rugged terrain, featuring steep rock scrambles, towering cliffs, exhilarating climbs and striking landscapes. This challenging trail winds through dense eucalypt forests, ascends to the dramatic Sugarloaf Peak (through the optional 5 graded Wells Cave Track for an extra challenge), before continuing along the exposed Razorback Ridge. Hikers traverse to South Jawbone Peak, before descending back through the forest.

Pack a comfortable day backpack with 2L of water (3L on a hot day), sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat for sun protection. Wear sturdy trainers with good grip or, ideally, waterproof hiking boots and bring a waterproof jacket for unexpected rain or wind. Also consider using hiking poles to support your knees on descents and maintain balance, and gaiters for extra protection against snakes and rain (though they are optional).
